Description

Influence map for deviants only! I'll do another for popular media later.

-Mel Black.
Previously a deviantART member, she no longer posts art on the internet, but she was one of the first artists that talked to me when I expressed my admiration. I love her use of colors and her characters and used to be a very loyal fan.

-:iconendling:
Isn't he an influence for everyone? I love his style, how he seamlessly blends anime and western art styles through colorful and interesting character, all of whom are unique and glorious. I am floored by his colors and expressions.

-:iconventastic:
One of my biggest influences on dA. He follows his dream relentlessly and believes in himself more than a lot of people seem to. I love his sense of humor and his characters. His vintage art style is charming and refreshing, a nice change of pace in this one-trick-pony world.

-:iconlone-momo:
Between her whimsical style and anatomy and her elaborate designs and characters, Hunter was one of my first influences ever. She was the first person I gathered the courage to ask about art and she was very friendly. Though I am more of a fan of her older art, I will never cease to be a fan of her intricate line work.

-:iconslugbox:
I am a fan of stereotypical anime pin-up girls that are shiny and pretty and Slugbox delivers. I love his original characters and his passion for fan service never gets old. He lives off of his hobby which I admire more than anything and beyond that he's just a cool, down to earth guy.

-:iconcreature13:
The most talented artist on dA, hands down. I love her characters, line work, anatomy, sketches, sense of humor and her style. It was hard to pick something from her gallery to add to this map because she's such an amazing artist and I hold her in such high regard. I admire everything she does, especially her poses, perspective and hands. Never a dull moment in her gallery. She's probably my favorite artist.

-:iconjisuk:
It seems that he doesn't post much on dA anymore, but when he did, I watched his gallery obsessively. I love how casual and simple his style is. Coupled with amazing characters who's personalities shine through his art, he's truly an inspiration. Like Endling, I admire how he seems to blend western influences into his art without completely losing the anime feel. I wish I could replicate it.

-:iconsamurai-pet:
PET's gallery recently vanished off the face of dA, but the few things that remain are worth me keeping her bookmarked before I start stalking the internet trying to find her. I love the world and story that she has created for her colorful characters. Her anatomy and colors are top notch and I love the grungy feeling her finished pieces have. She's a genius at expression and lighting and her pieces are so emotionally stimulating. I hope I find her soon.

-:iconjohnsu:
From hilarious characters to expressive artwork, interesting colors and amazing design work, John Su is one of the more influential artists for me. I love how he doesn't take himself seriously at all and makes art seem fun again (which I have a hard time doing). Also, the games he makes are terribly addicting and his little animations are incredibly fun.

-:iconhaisimcoui:
Just look at his art. Look at it. Haisi is a huge inspiration for me. He encourages me to think outside of the box and do art not for the sake of portraying the world, but for the sake of portraying the things that only I can see. I can't say I've lived up to the things he has inspired me to do, as I am not nearly as imaginative as he is. This man also bleeds intellect and insight. His short expletives on life and the functions of the people in it are mind boggling and beautiful. Also, he is really kind and deserved more adoration than he receives, which reminds me that I really need to finish his gift art.

-:iconbonhwa:
My number one emotional influence. Her entire gallery is filled with emotion inducing images of romance and loss. Each of her pieces feels natural and as if someone took a snapshot of real people. A lot of the images in her gallery look like screen caps from a movie and are portrayed with amazing 'camera' angles and lighting that completely distract from the idea that these are not real people. I love her stuff and I love her ability to make her characters seem so real. I aspire to be even a fraction of what she is.

-:iconhamletmachine:
I don't really have a lot of words to describe Hamlet or how I feel about her. I just love her art. I love her expressions and attention to detail while remaining very simplistic. I like that she keeps to very simple color schemes, sometimes even sticking to black, white and red to convey entire pieces and it ALWAYS works. I love her black out technique, as it provides a signature originality that only she has, which is something I continue to strive for. I love Hamlet, that's all.

-:iconmiha-mimiko-kyattuha:
Miha is a friend of mine and a great artist. She inspires me to keep trying and even goes so far as to help me understand things like detail and coloring. I appreciate everything she's done for me and there are still times when I am drawing that I recall things that she'd said to me concerning anatomy or shading. She is also endlessly creative and her characters are amazingly crafted. She's a talented writer and just an all around really cool person.

-:icongoddess-of-sugar:
Last, but not least, my friend Sugar, who has carried me through more than one rut, though I don't know if she knows it. Through her role play group I have found a few things that I had lost in terms of creativity and writing ability that are irreplaceable. I love her characters and her costumes and her big sexy brain and I'm not sure what else I can say about that.
